Obama has not just the one Tax on 250K incomes in mind. He has 4 more new taxes he wants and 5 tax increases in mind for a total of 10 Tax increases. You really think that is going to only effect the rich? And in the first 2 years there will be nothing to keep him from passing it all, including gun control legislation, and change the game by giving illegals the right to vote. He is in favor of giving illegal immigrants drivers licenses which will automatically give them voting privileges. Many states already have voter registrations tied to driver licenses. In other words there will be no going back. We will be stuck with the Democrats in control for a long time and no way to change it.

You may be right about the Dems loosing in 2 years and the midterms, however, how much damage can Obama and a Congress he will own, do to our country in 2 years? And worst case scenario, what if this election gives Obama a super majority, Then there could not even be filibuster ability to balance out the liberals. They could do anything they wanted and the Conservatives could hardly get a word in edgewise. This is a very grave situation and most of the country doesn’t have a clue. Wow you can say that again. Ok THIS IS A VERY GRAVE SITUATION AND MOST OF THE COUNTRY DOESN’T HAVE A CLUE.

benji, do you not realize that a tax on the rich will be either evaded by the rich or passed on down to the middle class and the poor? And besides that it will help seal the recesion into a depression. Look at history. Raising taxes has always done that with the exception of Clinton, only because he was a lucky dog to have taken office when the cold war ended. One of the most optimistic era’s in history.

President-elect Barack Obama has just stated that he is going to tax ammunition 500% as well as all handguns and semi-automatic weapons. He said he wants to permanantly ban all hanguns, semi-auto’s, and some shotguns. He also wants to do away with the ‘grandfather clause’ and make it illegal to possess any guns purchased before his ban goes into effect. You will have to wait for 30 days to buy a gun. He and Biden are also proposing reinstating a ‘much stronger’ version of the 1994-2004 Clinton gun ban that the Republican Congress let expire in 2004. This new band would be permanent without being up for renewal option! Basically they are disarming law abiding citizens, but doing so in small increments. With The Democrats having a fillibuster proof Majority in the Senate and House, Obama will be able to implement and pass this gun control on America as the numbers are there in the Senate. They already have 58 seats out of 100. No, I am not a Republican, and am darn sure not a Democrat. I am an American that votes 3rd party every time. Who agrees with me that the cities they ban guns in have the highest crime rates? A criminal can get a gun anywhere. This legislation is targeted at LAW ABIDING CITIZENS and nothing more. Do you agree with what they said they are going to do on January 20, 2009, by signing the confiscation of guns into law? Look at the President-elect’s voting record as a Senator on every piece of gun legislation in the past. Who in their right mind would allow a 500% tax on ammunition and all guns? People have told me ‘Congress won’t let him do it’, however I disagree as they have enough of a majority to do whatever they want for the next 2 years. So, the question of the day is…Do you agree with what they are doing come January or are you for it??? When is enough enough? Sincerely, an average American struggling to pay the mortgage and keep gas in my car. No I am not a right winger or a gun freak either. This coming legislation just seems very disturbing to me.
