Are you for or against the GUN CONTROL the Obama-Biden administration is signing in January?

gun control legislation
Matt asked:

President-elect Barack Obama has just stated that he is going to tax ammunition 500% as well as all handguns and semi-automatic weapons. He said he wants to permanantly ban all hanguns, semi-auto’s, and some shotguns. He also wants to do away with the ‘grandfather clause’ and make it illegal to possess any guns purchased before his ban goes into effect. You will have to wait for 30 days to buy a gun. He and Biden are also proposing reinstating a ‘much stronger’ version of the 1994-2004 Clinton gun ban that the Republican Congress let expire in 2004. This new band would be permanent without being up for renewal option! Basically they are disarming law abiding citizens, but doing so in small increments. With The Democrats having a fillibuster proof Majority in the Senate and House, Obama will be able to implement and pass this gun control on America as the numbers are there in the Senate. They already have 58 seats out of 100. No, I am not a Republican, and am darn sure not a Democrat. I am an American that votes 3rd party every time. Who agrees with me that the cities they ban guns in have the highest crime rates? A criminal can get a gun anywhere. This legislation is targeted at LAW ABIDING CITIZENS and nothing more. Do you agree with what they said they are going to do on January 20, 2009, by signing the confiscation of guns into law? Look at the President-elect’s voting record as a Senator on every piece of gun legislation in the past. Who in their right mind would allow a 500% tax on ammunition and all guns? People have told me ‘Congress won’t let him do it’, however I disagree as they have enough of a majority to do whatever they want for the next 2 years. So, the question of the day is…Do you agree with what they are doing come January or are you for it??? When is enough enough? Sincerely, an average American struggling to pay the mortgage and keep gas in my car. No I am not a right winger or a gun freak either. This coming legislation just seems very disturbing to me.

People are asking for my sources. Well, here they are…Us senate.gov(look at his voting record) and NRA. People are accusing me of lying already. Check it out people, they are going to do this stuff. They have 58 senate seats so far out of 100 with 2 races still up in the air. What more sources are needed folks? Peace out.

  1. No I do not agree but I knew it was coming. That is why we are stocked up, shouldn’t need anymore ammo now for years as long as the libs stay out of my yard!

  2. link please and really is this a surprise i will be happy when all the rich people that voted for “change” will have to take that out of their own duped pockets lol

  3. I didn’t vote for him, and I don’t think that Obama is pro-gun by any stretch of the imagination, but I don’t for one second believe that any of that is true.

Can you name the bill number in the house or senate that has these provisions in it?

    I thought not.

  4. yea i agree cause if bullets where 3000 dollars each you think people would go out and buy them no no bullets= no murders and only hicks red necks from the south like guns… oohh and having *** with theyr sisters

  5. Im Just amazed how dumb these people are
    Banning things just doesnt work,
They banned handguns in the UK after some do gooder campaign
All it achieved was people like me were unable to do a sport we loved.
The gun problem in the UK is now worse than ever.
They dont really think that criminals go down to thier local gun dealer to buy Guns and Ammunition do they

  6. How many innocent people have been shot by “law abiding citizens”? How many “law abiding citizens” are in prison for an arms offence that they “didn’t mean to commit”? How many more school children are going to be slaughtered by people who were, up to the time of the offence, “law abiding citizens”?

Why would a “law abiding person” want to own/carry a semi automatic weapon, or any weapon for that matter.
It seems to me that all americans are so insecure that they have to arm themselves to the teeth to make themselves appear tough.

Yes you guessed right I am against the right to carry arms. And one day when your husband, son, daughter, wife, etc. is gunned down by a “law abiding citizen” you will probably think twice about the legal right to carry arms or knowing your culture you will go for revenge and devastate another innocent family.

Since you are crossposting I’ll just follow you and post my response:

Source it or it never happened.

His question is riddled with lies and distortions and I want to see him back his post up,

Oh and I should state for the record – AR-15, AK-47, etc etc etc law-abiding liberal gun owner here that isn’t the least bit worried.

Since you tried to respond, I’ll walk you through it.

    1. What he backed (which they knew never would pass but it was a good faith vote) was for a 500% INCREASE in the tax of ammo – or roughly a 50% total tax. You’re wrong.
    2. Your quote “President-elect Barack Obama has just stated that he is going to tax ammunition 500% as well as all handguns and semi-automatic weapons. He said he wants to permanantly ban all hanguns, semi-auto’s, and some shotguns” WHERE IS YOUR LINK SHOWING HE ‘JUST SAID’ this? Back it up or back down.
    3. “He also wants to do away with the ‘grandfather clause’ and make it illegal to possess any guns purchased before his ban goes into effect. You will have to wait for 30 days to buy a gun. He and Biden are also proposing reinstating a ‘much stronger’ version of the 1994-2004 Clinton gun ban that the Republican Congress let expire in 2004.” WHERE IS YOUR LINK? It doesn’t have to do with his record – you say they propose – link it dude. Or its lies.
    4. “tion! Basically they are disarming law abiding citizens, but doing so in small increments. With The Democrats having a fillibuster proof Majority in the Senate and House,” LIE they don’t – they need 60 seats. They have 57.

You make assertion after assertion about ‘what they will do’ yet you provide no material link. ***** his voting record. Last time I checked, Congress writes the bills. The president can’t do anything regarding legislation except perhaps recommend. And Congress would not pass this sort of stupid crap because it would put many businesses out of business – do you think that’s a bright idea given the nature of our economic issues?

So again – where did you ‘hear’ him ’say’ that he ‘would do’ these things on ‘Jan 20, 2009′? Or are you smoking some weed?

Seriously, link it or your question just stinks of rant, my friend.

  8. Personally, I **** guns (except for peace officers and hunters that hunt to eat)! However, that is mostly due to the violent acts they cause. Honestly, if I were not so terrified of them, I would want one in my home (hesitantly so as I have children) for protection against others yielding the same.

Banning is a very scary prospect. Look at illegal drugs ~ they have been every where since I was born, but illegal.

If people want them, they will have them. Guns, which are legal now, will even further jam our court/jail/prison systems if they are banned. Cannot remember the last crime that happened by a responsible licensed and/or registered gun owner, versus a thug with guns that are not exactly “hunting rifles”.

“No drugs” = WHATEVER, and “No guns” will hurt the very people that desire protection against the evil ones who are fully armed.

  9. The part about him supporting the banning on semi autos scares me. But so many people are gonna be against it that I doubt it.

To Ian K- stop stereotyping people who own firearms. I own firearms and use them responsibly. You’ve never own firearms so you don’t know the responsibility of owning one.

  10. thats why I invested in a Dillon Super 1059 reloader! Oh yeah i forgot to mention that i have around 8,000 rounds of 40s&w and about 3,000 rounds 9mm-and lets not forget about the 2,500-3,000 rounds of .223 for my AR-15. Stock up now-just in case, i doubt obama will get that law passed. That would cause a civil war man! There is to many people with guns to ask them to just turn them over. I’ll tell you what- if the feds want my guns-then they can just come pry them out of my fingers.
