Why would it be good gun control to ban all guns? I am pro-gun control, but i do wonder what is going through people's minds when they suggest this.
The are probably millions of illegal guns in the US at the moment, a ban on guns will not have a positive effect for a long time, perhaps twenty or thirty years time. In the meantime, criminals will have guns, no one else will and the situation would probably get worse, not better.

Good gun control legislation would prevent criminals from getting guns, make some owners (the bad ones and the inconsiderate ones) more responsible.
But this should go along with many other crime fighting policies, like fairer education funding, better education, better opportunities especially for the poor, more after school programs, rehabilitation in prisons, along with many other things. However the US citizens want low taxes, and that is all they seem to want, so this will never happen because people are so selfish they hurt their own society to get what they want, three cars, ten washing machines, eight bedrooms and a green green lawn even in a drought. Americans don't care, that is why americans have such crime problems, and they suffer for it.

After you get your "good" legislation, what rights will you go after next? Arrest people for going to church, reading the newspaper or voting?

The only Good gun control legislation would be to repeal most of it and reform what is left, a description that your massive theft legislation doesn't fit.

Note to David C; Gun sales at Pawn Shops are even more strictly regulated than at gun shops as it is. There is no reason to place further restrictions on gun shows, the dealers are under the same restrictions as at their licensed locations, and it is obtrusive to impose the same standards on an individual selling a few items of his private property as are placed on a licensed professional.

And there is nothing wrong with using a semi-automatic version of the AK-47 for hunting as long as you have a hunt legal magazine.

I am all about making a new law that would charge anyone who even thinks up this gun control crap with Treason because the Second Amendment and the rest of the US Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land.

Sorry, You have no argument.

Why should I as a law abiding citizen give up my second amendment rights? I am no danger to anyone else.

I've broken no laws, I pay my taxes, I mind my own business and take care of my family.

Why should I have to give up my guns in the interest of public safety when I am not a public menace to begin with?

If all the hand guns were taken up then only criminals will possess them.

It is a fact that states which have concealed hand gun carry laws violent crime against every day ordinary citizens goes down.

Now that seems like a good thing to me.

It will never happen. Until individual states tighten up their laws on gun sales at places like gun shows and pawn shops there will always be too many guns circulating.
States should also enforce mandatory gun training and ban assault weapons (you need an AK47 to hunt deer?), Rifles and shotguns for hunting, handguns for home protection in remote areas I have no problem with. The increasing liberal granting of concealed carry permits is another thing needing reining in, too many dumb people packing heat in urban surroundings. I don't want half the shoppers in my local mall to be ready to shoot me if I bump into them...

Sergio, we have laws on the book right now, correct? If everybody followed those laws, there would be noone in prison right now, am I correct again? So in your little mind, what makes you think a criminal is going to care if there are gun control laws? They are not, so, what you are asking is to take guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens, that way the only people armed are criminals. Real smart Sergio. I will keep my gun right next to me.

Sarah Brady, is that you? We shouldn't. I own several handguns and would use them to save myself or anyone in danger...even you.
